Grids, grids, and grids! Contemporary New York City architecture is all about grids. Lines intersect lines, patterns intersect patterns, horizontal lines intersect vertical lines. It is pure geometry, with a serendipitous play of light, creating a magical world of photographic possibility. It is architecture with no dependent historical perspective, expressed in pure linearity. It references nothing other than what it is––absolute perfection. That is, of course, if you view it as I do.
